Hi I'm Mary Lou

I'm a wife, a mom & a grandma. I'm a business partner, a cancer survivor, a seminary teacher AND I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is the joy of my life! I am married to a wonderful man. I have 6 incredible children, (5 daughters and 1 son), a fantastic son-in-law and one precious grandson. I'm a business partner with my husband in an alternative health care practice. I don't like to define myself as a breast cancer survivor but the experience is part of who I have become. I've spent a great deal of time studying the art of being positive and I choose to have peace in all aspects of my life. I was raised by 2 fabulous parents who taught me principles of faith and character. My family and my faith are the center of my life. There is nothing greater than being with my family, immediate and extended. I love them all so much. I love hiking, camping, and enjoying the magnificence of God's creations. I'm a photographer, a cardmaker, a cook and a friend. Life is spectacular!

Why I am a Mormon

That's the way I was raised. I've been born of goodly parents who gave me the privilege of being raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am so grateful for that blessing! Through the teaching and example of my parents and other righteous individuals, my knowledge and understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ have increased. Through life's experiences, both good and bad, the Holy Ghost has witnessed to me and I've come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is my brother and my Savior and that He loves me. Because He loves me, He was willing to suffer and die for me, and through His atonement, if I follow Him, I will return with Him to God's presence some day. My joy and peace are full and I am strengthened when I follow my Savior and live as He has taught.

How I live my faith

I strive to live as Jesus has taught, to love others and recognize each individual on earth as a child of God. I find joy in serving others, in hopes that in some small way, I may bring a measure of comfort or peace to someone in need. My calling is to serve as a seminary teacher. That is, I am privileged to have the opportunity to teach 18 students, ages 14-16, who meet at 5:45am every weekday before going to high school, to study the New Testament and the teachings of the Savior and the prophets. As a teacher, my life is blessed, not only for the opportunity to associate with these fine young people but as I study in preparation for my lessons, I am learning so much more about the gospel than ever before. I hope that as they learn daily from the scriptures, my students will be strengthened in the daily challenge they face.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Mary Lou
We gain faith by living according to the Savior's teachings. The scriptures have the answers! Through study of the scriptures we can come to know and understand more about the Savior and his life and teachings. As we know and understand Him and strive to follow His teachings and example, our faith in him will increase. Show more Show less
