Hi I'm Sherri

I was born & raised in California. I'm a full-time working mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a first-time mom trying to balance my life between work and family. I'm a Registered Dietitian at a hospital, and I love everything to do with nutrition and food. I love team sports, shopping, and trying new recipes.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church in Northern California. I faithfully went to seminary in high school and went to BYU-Utah for 5 years. At BYU, my church activity waxed and waned, depending on the time of church meetings (8:30 AM seemed way too early for a college student!). I mostly relied on the tesimonies of others to keep me going spiritually. When I moved to the Pacific Northwest for grad school, I had no friends or family nearby. I had no accountability for me to attend church. I had to decide to stop sitting on the fence, and to decide whether or not to be a full, active member of the church. I started reading my scriptures faithfully and attending church regularly. I had to learn how to be less lazy and do more service for others. Once I finally decided that I was going to commit to being a Mormon full-time, the pieces in my life finally started fitting together. Now that I'm married and have a child, the Gospel brings more light to our home than I'd ever expected. We have a hope for a better and brighter future. We participate in daily family prayer and scripture study that strengthens our souls and relationships. Although we've had our bumps along the way, the Gospel has allowed us to maintain a steady perspective.

How I live my faith

I've had multiple "callings" within the church. I've worked with the young women in our congregation, I've worked with the women's group, and I've sang in the ward choir. I have organized activities and service projects. How I actually live my faith? I try to demonstrate Christlike love to those around me.
