Hi I'm Duane

I'm a hunter, I'm a scout master, I'm a husband and father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second oldest of 7 kids. I'm a second generation Arizona native. I grew up hunting and camping with my family. I've now been married for over 9 years and I am a proud father of 4 children. I completed my bachelors degree in business management. I am a mechanic at the nuclear power plant. I am a scout master. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, watching MMA fights, playing video games with my kids, and going on dates with my wife. I once cut my leg to the bone with a spam can and I love ice cream. Oh yeah, and I enjoy making people laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up mormon and was always active in the church. I liked the emphasis my parents placed on families and spending time together. I had always excepted the Mormon church as the true church. But it wasn't until after high school that I finally found out for myself. I knelt down and prayed and received a peach and a joy that filled my heart. From that moment on, I've never had any doubt of the truthfulness of the church. I've seen the joy this church brings to my life and my families life. I have witnessed miracles of people being healed by the power of God. I know this is the true church. I know we have a prophet on the earth today to guide and direct us. I know the Book of Mormon is true and compliments the Bible to give us the full gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that only through him can we return to live again with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I am currently the scout master and I work with the youth doing community service and teaching and preparing them to be men and fathers. We go on monthly campouts and go to a week long scout camp every year. We have weekly scout meetings and activities with all the youth. The majority of my time is spent with my family. I love to do everything with them and I look forward tot he simple things like how excited my kids get when I come home from work. I enjoy spending time with friends and even those not of our faith will always have a caffeine free bottled soda for me. I live my faith by showing others that yes, I'm different, but that doesn't mean I'm weird! Ok, maybe I'm a little weird....

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

We will all live after this life and we will be judged according to our deeds. If we make good choices and keep the commandments of God we can return to live with him again. Show more Show less
