Hi I'm Jason Hogge

I am a husband, father, and Family Doctor. Who loves to teach medical students....I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I think I have the best job in the world. When I was growing up I wanted to be a professional snowboarder. Multiple bumps, bruises, stitches, and concussion later I realized it was much easier to be the doctor putting the pieces back together. Twelve years of school, 20 years of marriage, and four children later my snowboarding is not any better. But I've gotten pretty good a putting the pieces back together. There is great personal satisfaction in seeing a smile, hearing a thank you or a kind word from a person recovering from a major illness. My favorite patients are my family. My children have taught me that band-aids can heal all wounds and crutches can also be used as swords. My wife continues to amaze me with a kiss that can makes all things better.

Why I am a Mormon

I belive in miracles. Every day I see people do extraordinary things to help others; the daughter who takes care of her 90 year old father with dementa who can stop, enjoy and even laugh at the same joke he tells 3 times a day because "he forgets", the brother that quits work and moves in with his brother to be with him as he fights stage four cancer, and the family that stops and prays togther before their child taken into emergency surgery. I belive that this is what our Savior Jeasus Christ did when he was here on the earth. I know that each one of us has a special connection with God. I know that He love us and that when we help others we feel his love for us.

How I live my faith

I love to read and learn. I have always been facinated by details. How does the heart beat 60 times a minute, 60 minutes per hour, day in and day out for 75 years of our life? This amazing organ weighs one-hundredth of our body's mass; and once it quits working, sends us back to our hevanly father. I find that it is the little details in my spiritual life that help me live my faith. It is praying, it is reading the scriptures, it is spending quiet time with my family. All of these things help me to be closer to my Father in Heaven.
