Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Recently moved to Moses Lake to be part of Genie (Aerial Work Platforms). There have been lots of changes in my life recently with the move and job change, sons leaving for missions, coming home, going off to school. I like change, but it is certainly different to only have one son (my 14 year old) at home when just 3 1/2 years ago I had 5 sons at home. I am married to my wonderful wife for 289 glorious months. I am starting to slow down a little bit and that has helped my to enjoy life a little more. The time is fast approaching when we will be empty nesters, and that scares me. My life has been my children and I hope that I have something for when they are gone.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a LDS family. My mother's family has been in the church for generations. My father chose to join the church in his 20's, just before marrying my mother. Not all of my siblings are currently still active in the church, so I guess that we have all chosen our own way. I chose the church because when I serve in the church I am truely happy. I have lived the teachings of the church and have been blessed. I often joke that without the church I would be in jail. I find that I am easily tempted to do wrong, that I give the teachings of the church credit for giving me a purpose to my life, and an life goal to strive for. I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Everyday and in everyway. My faith comes up in conversation often as I refrain from certain social behaviors that are allowed but mostly frowned upon. I live my life in accordance with the teachings of Christ as best that I can.
