Hi I'm Alyssa

I grew up in California. I'm a college student and...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of four girls and have two loving parents. My family is very close and I enjoy spending time with them. My sisters are my best friends. Family is one of the most important things in my life. I do not know where I would be today without them. I have received my Bachelor's Degree, but now beginning a massage therapy program. I love the outdoors and photography. I enjoy swimming, biking, hiking, camping and going to the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. Although I grew up going to church I still had to make the decision of whether I thought this gospel was true for myself. It took me until I was in college to really gain a true testimony and want to go to church because I believed in it and not just because my parents expected it. Furthering my knowledge in the gospel has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have had my share of trials in my life, but through these hard times I have strengthened my relationship with my Heavenly Father. Throughout each trial I have learned I must come to the Lord and that I cannot get through them on my own. I know that this is the true church and that we have a Prophet on earth today to lead and guide us. I know that the Savior came to this earth and atoned for my sins so I can be forgiven and return to him and my family again one day. I know that families can be together forever and that I will see my loved ones again after death.

How I live my faith

This last summer I had the opportunity to be on a committee for a regional conference for all the young single adults in my area. This was a great experience and the conference was a great success. We had speakers, games, dances, food, service projects and Bollywood dance instruction. Those who attended had a blast and made all of the months and hours spent planning all worth while. I have also been involved in visiting teaching. Through visiting teaching I am able to share the gospel and my testimony to those I visit. I have also established great friendships with the women in my church through visiting teaching.
