Hi I'm Dave

I am an active member of the LDS Church and work as a financial officer for a national wholesale company.

About Me

I have been married for over 30 years and currently have 3 grown sons and 3 grandsons. I have lived all over the Southwestern United States, but Arizona has been our home. I spent 17 years as a CPA in public accounting and currently work as a financial officer for the largest privately held wholesale-distributor in the country. I love to exercise, play sports and read. My family is most important to me and I love spending time, working and playing with them. My grandsons are under 5 years old and my wife and I are really enjoying them since all of our boys have grown up and moved out. We love the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is the center of our lives. We are very active in our faith and it is a very big part of our lives. I have 2 older brothers and an older sister. One of the most satisfying experiences in my life is helping others find happiness and success in their personal and professional lives.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised by an active LDS family, I reached a point in my life where I determined that it was important for me to know for myself if this gospel and faith I had been taught was true and was the path I should continue to follow in my life. Some people gain a witness of truth "line upon line and precept upon precept" and for some that witness comes in a very strong, profound manner. For me it was the later. This I found requires a very sincere heart, humble attitude and diligence. I studied many faiths, learned about their doctrine and talked with their members. While away at college, I found myself alone in a dorm many miles from home. I made the decision to read and study the Book of Mormon and to make it a matter of prayer to know if the book is from God. I knew there was a promise in Moroni 10:4 that if I was sincere and genuine in my desire and put forth the effort that I would know. During a 3 to 4 week period, I did just that and found myself rushing back from classes to read more and pray more. During one night, I was blessed with a series of spiritual witnesses I will never forget. Moroni's promise was true and I continuedd to receive spiritual confirmations over the next several weeks. These witnesses were impressed in my heart and soul that we have a loving Heavenly Father, that Jesus Christ is His only begotten Son that atoned for our sins, that the Book of Mormon is from God and is a true book, that Joseph Smith restored the true gospel to the earth and that he saw what he saw, and that we have a living prophet of God on this earth. This testimony was etched in my soul many years ago and remains with me today and is the foundation of my life, my happiness and my strength. Unfortunately, many mis-understand what is in the Book of Mormon or are afraid to read it. What they need to know is that it testifies of Christ and is a companion to the Bible. It is an amazing book that will enlarge your belief in Christ as our Savior.

How I live my faith

I primarily live my faith by example to others of honesty, integrity, dependability, kindness, patience, tolerance and love. How I treat my fellow man is to me the ultimate example of our faith to others. Service is another important way. We are constantly unselfishly serving eachother and our neighbors and do this out of love. The language I use, the activities I spend my time in, how I behave around others reflects the qualities that our Savior would want all of us to learn and become. It is a lifetime effort and will be an eternal quest to become like Him, but we have to begin now and each day continue to try and improve. There is fear and stress in today's world and the gospel of Jesus Christ brings peace, comfort and strength. As a member of the church, I have the opportunity to serve our youth and other families helping them to grow and be happy in this difficult world we live in. My faith provides an anchor of strength for me and my family.
