Hi I'm Anna Marie

Im a mom, married to the love of my life, spin cotton and wool. Totally addicted to serving others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I had the opportunity to live in Alaska when it was a territory, my kids say Im old as dirt. Im not though, I lived in Colorado, California and England. What a great experience, but I was raised and have lived most of my life in the Northwest. I am married to the love of my life. I have 1 daughter, 3 sons, 1 daughter in law, all grown and really great, My oldest is on his 3rd tour in the Middle East, he was injured, but has healed and is still able to defend our country. The others work, or are in college. Me? I have always loved to knit since I was a kid. I took up spinning my own yarn when I struggled from depression so bad that I couldnt knit. I was hooked, I have spun for 20 years now, I knit, sew, quilt, hardanger, anything to do with fiber. I make fine threads from cotton to yarns to knit. I have loved to type since I learned how and still do. Since my children are grown I have more time on my hands so I spend a lot of time transfering data from old census records and such to database so that people can find their ancestors. I love to share the things I make with family, friends and contribute to the humanitarian efforts. I love to read about other places and cultures. I love a good mystery now and then too.

Why I am a Mormon

Our family would go see my Grandmother in St. George Utah. As a child, I would walk around the temple there. I would have thoughts of I am going to go there one day. I felt peace and joy! All of us have our trials in life, I am no exception to that, but because of those trials I have learned to turn to my Heavenly Father, who I know loves me. That he hears and answers prayers. The values on family, health, service help me to be a better person. As I have studied the Bible and Book of Mormon and see the parallels in the lives of the prophets, I am so grateful to have a living prophet who Heavenly Fathers speaks through. I am so grateful to have the knowledge that there is life after death, that I will see my extended family again. That families can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I teach others how to do indexing and help them do geneology. Because I make a lot of handmade things, I contribute each year to the humanitarian center that distributes around the world to those in need. I make things with love and I give with love. To know that I will probably never meet those children with their new dresses and bookbags, or the adults with warm hats and mittens, and babies with their soft blankets, or the person wrapped in a warm quilt. It still gives me great joy to serve them. I have always, since a child, had a great love for others. I learned that on our little family farm, as I took care of our animals, helped to deliver a calf and see the wonders of life. I knew that I wanted to do more!
