Hi I'm Emmy

I grew up in Colorado, but I have also lived in Denmark. I am currently a high school student and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a junior in high school. I love cross country. Running has had such a profound impact on my life. I am so grateful to be able to run and compete with other kids my age. This is my first year of ever doing any kind of sport. I am also the first kid in my family to do sports in high school. I am a devoted student, I'm trying to keep straight A's for every year of high school. I have had the wonderful opportunity to live in Denmark and travel all around the world. I really appreciate that I lived in another country, because it gave me the chance to see other cultures and realize I'm not the only person in the world. I have been making jewelry for about 8 years now, I have even had the opportunity to sell it. I enjoy reading, writing, learning, etc. My favorite class in school, so far, was Anatomy & Physiology because I would like to pursue a career in forensic anthropology. I love to sing, but I'm still to shy to sing in front of a lot of people. I enjoy listening to punk rock, my favorite band is Blink 182. I love my family, and realize how important they are. I am grateful to have the gospel guiding me in my life and for the blessings I receive everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents are devout members and wonderful examples of what a disciple of Christ should be. I think that youth sometimes struggle with understanding the gospel, because it is the age when they are trying to obtain knowledge and decide what they truly believe/ who they are. Although I don't quite understand every aspect of the gospel I have learned to have faith in the Lord; that in time, whether it be in this life or the next, everything I desire to know will be revealed to me. When I lived in Denmark, I struggled with a lot of things, but I came to realize the fullness of Christ's atoning sacrifice and that even though others may not know how I am feeling, Christ will always know exactly how I am feeling. This has provided so much comfort to me when I felt alone or in despair. I know that this church is true, I have had the blessing of feeling the quit conformation of the Holy Ghost. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. I know that if I live righteously I will be able to live with my Heavenly Father once again.

How I live my faith

I am currently the Laurel President, which means I am in charge of helping young women who are 16-18 and being an example to the younger girls. I love helping girls my age, because it helps me see their divine potential as daughters of God. I enjoy serving and helping others through church activities.
