Hi I'm john davis

I'm a Mormon.Im a recent convert of about two and half years ago. I was born in north carolina and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I'm married to a sweet, good loving woman. We love the outdoors and love to jet ski and travel places. We have two dogs that we spend a great deal of time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert to the church of JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER- DAY SAINTS around March of 2009. It all started from reading the book of mormon and eventually having missionary lessons. As I was being taught the restored gospel I had good feelings. They invited me to church and as I walked into the building I immediately had a feeling I never felt going to any other church,I felt like I was home. Throughout my life I knew about the Prophets of old, in Bible times, like Moses,Abraham,Isaiah, ect but had never known of living Prophets of today. After I heard the story about Joseph Smith and how he recieved revelations from the Angel Moroni I asked myself ,"If God spoke to His people then why wouldn't He continue to speak thru a Propet today?" It only makes sense! Pres Hinkley had just past away and Pres Monson had been ordained to take his place was the first time I experienced listening to a Prophet speak. My first thought was how blessed I am to knw this is a Prophet and what he has to say to me comes from Heavenly Father! It wasn't long after these events I knew I was right where I belonged and wanted to be baptised! I can say I knw this church is the true church of Jesus Christ and I knw Joseph Smith translated the golden plates given to him by an angel sent from God. And the same gospel that existed then was restored thru Joseph. He was the Lord's tool. I knw Jesus Christ is our Savior and He died for my sins and was resurrected and lives and guides us today. The Book of Momon is another testimate of Jesus Christ and explains how we should live in order to return to be with our Heavenly Father once again.Heavenly Father wants His children to be happy in this life and the next. By reading the scriptures and keeping the commandments we can be happy and overcome any struggles we have today with a sense of peace and joy! This is His promise to us!!

How I live my faith

In the church I was quickly taught that it's the people serving that keeps it going. We are all given what's called a "calling". Which means I am given responsiblities. Heavenly Father gave us a commandment to love one another and in showing our love we want to make sure the needs of the people in our ward or area are being taken care of. So every month the men and women pairoff with another member and visit assigned members. Those that are active and those that are less active. We keep the Bishop up to date on how everyone is doing. If some family or individual is in need the Bishop will do everything in his power to help. I also have the calling of being a member missionary and on certain days of the week will take the fulltime missionaries wherever they are teaching someone inquiring about the church. Generally I make myself available to be of help to the fulltime misionaries when I can.
