Hi I'm Melissa

I am a grandmother to five darling grandchildren and love being so. I love to quilt and garden. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to quilt and garden. Cooking is fun too but I don't love doing the clean up. There is nothing more important to me than relationships in my family. I love to vacation. That I do that visiting my family is a big plus to me. I have lived in four countries and I speak Spanish.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter Day Saint (Mormon) because I find comfort and safety living the commandments of God. At church I am reminded of His love for me. At church I get opportunities to serve and bring joy to others in my community which brings me joy. I love knowing that my family is an eternal unit and that we will be together forever if we all do as our Savior ask and come unto him.

How I live my faith

In my ward I get to be the Compassionate Service Leader. I organize meals to be brought into homes that need help in times of stress. Sometimes I get to be the one taking in a meal. That help is always appreciated. That is an obvious way serve. In actuality, it is the everyday things I do that show that I'm a disciple of Christ. Being kind and gentle with my family, helpful and friendly to people I come in contact with when away from home. Helping my mother with her list of things to be done is another way I try to be a conduit of Gods love to those I come in contact with. We just never know when our sincere smile will be the only friendly gesture a person receive that day. If I can couple that with a little friendly chatter in the grocery line it is a small kindness I may do.
