Hi I'm Dodd

I'm a Mormon. I live in the southwest and have been here 48 years.

About Me

I'm married with 5 kids, ages 28-18. I've lived in the southwest practically all my life. Growing up I worked in restaurants and as a lifeguard. I attended college for one year then served a mission to Bolivia. For six months I served as a health missionary. After college I earned my MD degree and then completed a residency in Anesthesiology. I have always enjoyed sports and the outdoors, biking, hiking, surfing and traveling around the world. I also love learning new things and have an entrepreneurial spirit. I enjoy being involved with different businesses. Several years ago I earned my private helicopter license, I fly a Robison R44 and yes, it is the most fun thing in the world. I feel like an eagle, soaring through the sky unbound by the laws of gravity, absolute freedom! My family is my true love however, and I find no greater happiness than being with them. My life is summed up by the phrase I uttered when awakening from having knee scope surgery, "I'm a lucky boy!"

Why I am a Mormon

Everyone needs to find out, for themselves, the path that will lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. I saw unhappiness and misery and wanted none of that. Believing there existed a greater being who created me, I searched the scriptures and prayed fervently to know what I should do. I found myself reading the Book of Mormon, and felt the unmistakable voice of God confirm in my mind and soul that this scripture was true and came from him. I have been true to the revelation he sent me ever since. I have been blessed to have received much communication from Him. It is wonderful to know that God lives and He knows me, His son. This knowledge is the greatest gift I've ever received and my greatest possession.

How I live my faith

I love to teach others of the joy of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I enthusiastically talk about Hs gospel to everyone I meet, not in a pushy way, but by my sharing my love of life. Does that make sense? I love to share what I've learned with others and find joy in missionary work, teaching college age students, and associating with like minded people.
