Hi I'm Amanda

I have a serious case of wanderlust. I've lived in 3 countries in the past 7 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always been interested in understanding the world, and the best way for me to understand it is by experiencing it. Since graduating High School in Las Vegas, I've lived in a small village in West Africa, near the beach in Hawaii, and in a flat in London with other immigrants. I love getting to know and love other cultures. Traveling has only fueled my interested in history, and I taught High School history before becoming a mama. I am married to an incredible man and have two amazingly fun boys. I don't travel as far from home these days, but I enjoy hiking and camping close to where we live. I cook, swim, run, read, and try to keep up on world events when I'm not chasing my boys and keeping my family fed and happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have asked God if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church, and he has answered me that it is. After prayerfully reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know, I can say whole heartedly that Christ's church has been reestablished on the earth. There is a prophet on the earth today, just as there was thousands of years ago. The Priesthood has been restored, and with it, so many blessings. The gospel gives me peace, security, and direction. I know that by living God's commandments I can live with Him and my family when our time on this earth is over. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me and is an active participant in my life.

How I live my faith

As a disciple of Christ, I try to have his image in my countenance. I pray daily, and try to read from the Book of Mormon or Bible daily as well. I love teaching my oldest son about Jesus Christ and how to be a good person. My biggest goal is to have a happy family, and be remembered for being happy and helpful.
