Hi I'm Andy Hilton

I live in Franklin Indiana on a small farm with my wife and dog! We have 4 terrific kids who make us smile!

About Me

I am married to a terrific woman named Deanna. We have been married for 34 years...way over 1/2 of our lives. We live on a small farm and grow soy beans and corn. We have been active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since our marriage and earlier (for my wife). Having a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ has been the ingredient in our marriage that has allowed us to be happy for all these years...given us strength to try and be good parents and has allowed us to make friends whereever we have moved. When you know "where you're from...why you are here...and where you will go after death"...it makes the ups and downs of this life so much easier to deal with. I am so thankful that the gospel that Christ established at the meridian of time was restored to its fullness and is so SWEET and remarkably simple.

Why I am a Mormon

When I married my wife and she was very active in her Church...I thought I could convert her to my beliefs since my way was so much more fun! After about 5 years of marriage it became clear that my sweety was not going to be moved from her position...so I started to look a little closer at mine. It didn't take to long for me to realize that "her" friends were having a lot of fun...just in different ways than my friends. Within a few "visits" to the church with my wife and kids...the good Bishop of our ward sent a wonderful home teacher to my home. He was terrific and I will always consider him my Savior #2...while it is obvious that the Lord sacrificed his life for me. This good Brother sacrificed his time, his talents and his family responsibilities and took the time to educate me on the principles of truth that I thought up until that time were simply mysteries that "no one" could explain. I am so thankful for my patient wife, loving home teacher and then thousands of leaders and teachers since then, we have patiently taught me the gospel...as if I was learning from Him...who sits at the head of this church and His gospel. I am in debt and am certain I will never be able to repay it! But am thankful none the less.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith my keeping in contact with my Savior through prayer and scripture study. I am committed to the principle of helping others and enjoy serving as a home teacher, since it was such a critical part of my conversion. In the church we donate our time and to help our part of the vineyard grow and develop. I am currently working with the mission. The Elders (white shirts and ties...on bikes) and Sisters who have given 2 years of their lives to serve others and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to others, need support and coordination efforts with the membership in Indiana. It is my responsibility to help the full time Elders and Sister work closely with the members. I love my job and am so amazed at these 19-24 year olds who dedicate their lives, their time and their money to suppor themselves. I bear testimony that they are the finest group of 19-24 year olds on the planet. They are spiritually mature beyond their years and have a Spirit about them that is hard to explain.
