Hi I'm Sharon

I'm a Mormon. I have 7 children speak 4 languages, have traveled to 35 countries and work at the UN promoting family values.

About Me

I am an author and love to read and write, slalom ski, and travel. I love meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. I like challenges and love to try anything different. The most important thing in my life is my family and I love my husband who is dedicated to our family.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was in high school I started searching for God. My sister encouraged me to read the Book of Mormon. I had heard it was false but she she told me it had a promise that whoever reads it, and asks God with a sincere heart if it is true, that God through the Holy Ghost will let them know it is true. I decided to ignore the negative things I had heard and test this promise. I began to read the Book of Mormon and pray daily about it. I can testify that God did reveal to me through his spirit in a way I could not deny that the Book of Mormon (in addition to the bible) is also the word of God and contains the words of his prophets in ancient America. Since then the Book of Mormon has been a major guide in my life that brings me closer to Heavenly Father every time a read it. I have received many answers to my prayers through the Book of Mormon which was written for our day by ancient prophets. I also know that God has restored his full gospel to the earth during these latter days and called prophets again for our day just as he had in times past. I know this not of myself but because of God's spirit which has testified to me that this is true. It also makes sense since God has said in Amos 3:7 that the Lord does nothing save he reveals it first to his prophets. The bible warns of false prophets that will come to the earth in the last days which means there will be true prophets as well. Otherwise it would say we should avoid all prophets. I know that anyone honestly seeking the truth can know as I know and millions of people around the world know that God has restored his church to the earth and that he guides it through living prophets. For some it is easier to believe in dead prophets. I am grateful to know that God has not left us alone and that He speaks to us through prophets today. As I have followed the counsel and heeded the warnings of modern day prophets my life has been richly blessed and so will yours if you put that to the test.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis. I engage in personal prayer and study the scriptures daily. Our family also prays and studies the scriptures regularly. I honor the Sabbath day each Sunday by attending church and partaking of the sacrament which reminds me of Christ's sacrifice for my sins. Christ is at the center of my worship as He is my savior and redeemer. I honor Him by repenting of my sins and trying to live as He did. I love my Heavenly Father who sent his son to die for me. I have felt His redeeming power and will be forever grateful for it.
