Hi I'm Summer

I'm short. I love cheerleading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Summer. I'm 17 years old and a senior in high school. I recently just moved back to Arizona, my hometown. I spent the last 2 1/2 years in a small town in Utah. I enjoy watching sports, cheerleading, watching movies, and spending time with my friends and family. My parents are divorced, and I live with my dad, step mom, step brother, and two sisters. I'm hoping to attend college next year and become an elementry school teacher.

Why I am a Mormon

Fortunately, my parents were converted into the church a couple years after they were married, therefore, I was born into the church. Of course as a child I didn't appreciate it all the time, but as I'm getting older, I have developed such a strong love and passion for the church. I'm very thankful for the missionary who brought my parents into the church, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of how much different my life would be without it. Being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings so much joy to my life. It's so comforting to know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and is very aware of who I am as a person. I know I can pray to him whenever I want, and I know he hears and answers my prayers. I know this because I have experienced it first hand. Whether it's simple things such as trying to find a shoe, or big decisions such as which college to attend, he hears and answers them all. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon and spoke to Heavenly Father and Jesus. I'm grateful for all the persecutions and trials Joseph went through to restore the church on this earth for us. I have a testimony of temples and temple sealings. I know that because my parents were sealed in the temple, I can be with my family for eternity, not just "until death do you part" and I'm so anxious for the day I get to go and be sealed to my eternal companion. I'm thankful for missionary work and blessings it brings to others' lives. I know Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet and the messages he gives to us are the words of God. I'm so grateful for the leaders of this church and the examples they are for me. I love seminary and the young woman's organization for the huge testimony they have given me. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings every Sunday. Three hours seems like a huge sacrifice, but then I think of Jesus Christ and the huge sacrifice he gave for us. I also attend mutual every Wednesday evening. Mutual is for the youth of the church, we do activities once a week, sometimes they are spiritual and sometimes they are just fun. Seminary is another way I live my faith. Seminary is a class in high school, many people are familiar with. I love getting away from school for a class period and learning about my savior. Seminary has been a huge testimony builder for me. I pray everyday and study the scriptures for 15 minutes every night. The last way I live my faith is by being an example to others. I strive to be an example every day at home, school, and everywhere else I go. I've learned that you never know who's watching your example and attitude, so it's best to always have a good one!
