Hi I'm Brent

I live in the Beautiful Northwest. I love my family and running... and I am a Momon.

About Me

I grew up in Walnut, CA (close to Los Angeles). My wife Yvonne is also from the Los Angeles area but we had to go to Provo UT to meet at BYU. We have been married for 28 years. We have 5 children, one Daughter-in-law and an adorable Grandson and we are looking forward to more in the future. I enjoy running, working in the yard, playing basketball and golf, hiking/camping, Horse shoes, BYU Sports and being with my family as much as possible. I am employed by Abbott and sell medical devices in the Northwest.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Momon faith. I have always loved and cherished being a Christian in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. However, like other members of my church and faith who are raised LDS, at some point you must come to a realization that the church is right for you. Not because your parents raised you that way but because you really believe it for yourself. That realization came to me during my senior year in High School. While studying the Book of Mormon for early morning seminary class, I decided to accept a challenge to pray about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. During that prayer of faith an overwhelming feeling of peace washed over me that let me know that indeed the Book of Mormon was of God. I have never forgotten that experieince. I have had the faith since then to continue my membership in the LDS Church. It has brought much happiness and joy into my life. It has helped me to be a better husband and father. It has helped me to make good choices which in turn has brought much Peace into my life.

How I live my faith

I certainly try to live my faith by example. I always hope that when others in and outside of my faith see my actions that they will think to themselves, "What is it about Brent that makes him so happy and seem so peaceful?' Another way I try to live my faith is by service. As an active member of the LDS faith there are lots of opportunities to serve and help others. I have had many chances to help and mentor the youth of the church. Sometimes it has been through leadership in Scouting and at other times it has been through spiritual leadership as a lay minister. I have always loved my association with the youth of the church. I have also been priviledged to help others not of our church understand our faith, become converted and baptized. That is always a wonderful experience.

Are Mormons Christians?

Brent
Absolutely Mormons are Christians...! I have believed and have had faith in Jesus Christ my entire life. I have been taught of his life and teachings both at home and Church. My wife and I continue the tradition of teaching our children in our own home that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He is my Savior and Redeemer. It is through His atoning sacrifice and resurrection that all mankind can be saved. We pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon, like the Holy Bible, testifies of His life, divintiy and mission. I know that Jesus lives and He is my personal Savior. Show more Show less
