Hi I'm Michelle.

I grew up in the Great Northwest, and love how green it is. I love nature, art and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. I am a single parent to four beautiful children, and even though it is hard, I wouldn't trade them for anything. I enjoy singing at church and at home with my radio turned up loud, much to my children's dismay. However, I have gotten them to sing with me quite a few times. I also enjoy art. My favorite way to express some creativity is through photography. I don't know all there is to know about it, I just started a couple of years ago, but I feel like I am making some progress with my knowledge. Someday I hope to be able to turn that love for photography into something that can help support my family, but until then, I enjoy the creative outlet it gives me. Last year, my husband passed away. We had been married for 6, almost 7, years. It was an accident, nothing that he nor I could prevent, leaving me with our four children. So now, I am a single mom, trying to live the best that I can, and raise my children the best that I possibly can.

Why I am a Mormon

At first, it was because that was what I was expected to be. I grew up Mormon, and so I was raised that way. As time passed, and I grew a little older, I found myself choosing to go to church even if my parents did not. I just knew that I felt safe there. Now, it is because I know that I belong there, and that the things that I have learned and have been taught to me, are true. I remember visiting Salt Lake City, and visiting the temple there, and seeing the statue of Jesus, and just crying... I was only about 13 at the time, and I turned to my mom and said, "How could anyone not believe in Him?" I felt, even then, in my whole being that Jesus was MY Savior. As He is for everyone. Every time I listen to beautiful uplifting music, or feel the breeze on my skin on a beautiful fall day, or look at my children's sweet, innocent faces, I am reminded that He lives, that He loves me, and I believe that is true with every fiber of my being. I know that the scriptures are true and testify of our Savior, and our loving Heavenly Father. I know that there are true prophets today. I know that when I pray, my Father in Heaven is listening to me, and loving me.

How I live my faith

How I live my faith is, hopefully, through my example. When my husband passed away, I truly felt that my world had ended, that there was nothing left to live for. I went through the motions those first few weeks, in a numb sort of daze. I remembered though, that my husband had gone through the same thing, and he made it through by focusing on his son. My husband had been married previous to me, and they had a little baby boy. When that baby boy was 4 months old, they were in a car accident and my husband's first wife passed away, leaving him a single parent. My husband later told me that after she passed away, he knew he had to keep going for their baby boy. When I remembered that my husband was able to keep moving, I knew that I could too. I knew that raising our children was the most important thing that I could do. So, here I am. Trying to live my faith and teach my kids by example. I want and am trying to teach them that families ARE forever, that death is NOT the end. That we WILL be a family, a complete family, once again. That my children have a loving Savior who has provided the way for us to return to our Heavenly Father again. I want to help teach them that we are all brothers and sisters, and we need to help each other succeed. I want to teach them how to pray, how to love, and how to listen to the still, small voice of our Heavenly Father. With so many loud things there are in the world, I feel it is especially important for them to learn how to be still, and listen.
