Hi I'm Jake

I was born and raised in Arizona. I like racquetball, camping, and watching movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a 20 something married college student and so, like everyone else, I eat ramen noodles and pizza to get by. My my career path is headed towards dentistry so I have a lot of schooling left to go. Between school and work at a pest control company It's hard to have personal time, but when I do I love going and being outside. Outside I love playing racquetball and most other sports. Sport shooting and jogging are fun as well. My favorite by far is going on walks with my wife. I have many younger siblings nieces and nephews and sometimes I'll make silly home videos with them that I premier to the family for fun movie nights. If they're any good I sometimes put them on the web.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I find pure truth in this religion. Jesus Christ is "the way, the truth and the light" and I know that through his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I can have access to that. For me I feel that I have a one on one personal relationship with Jesus because of the restored gospel that my church Proclaims to have. I love the fact that I really truly receive answers to all my questions and prayers. Maybe not all at once, but they do come and that is what I call pure truth. It's through the gospel principles of the Mormon faith that I've come to understand what it means to be a real Christian. I love it.

How I live my faith

I love children, though I don't have any of my own yet. That is why I love serving in the local church nursery with my wife. We get to have fun, sing songs and have little lessons about Jesus Christ. You don't think at first that 2 year olds can understand or retain concepts like that, but they surprise us every Sunday I see them. I also participate in other church programs and service projects too, but my favorite are the kids. I feel truly accomplished and happy about life when I get to help and serve others. That's what the gospel is all about.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

In the Bible it says that God is the same yesterday today and forever, and so using that truth it is only right that he continue using prophets to guide his people for good just as he has in the past. I know that there is a living prophet on the earth today and his name is Thomas S. Monson. He has been chosen by the Lord to help us know what his (God's) will is for us today in the 21st century. I know that because the Holy Ghost has confirmed that truth in my heart. And you can know that too. Show more Show less
