Hi I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

It could say: Loving Wife, Devoted Mother, Glows with the Testimony of Christ, Loves Literacy, Serving Others, Wonderful Housekeeper and Gourmet Chef. The truth is more: my husband and I laugh a lot, I struggle with not yelling at kids, I have been known to read a good book instead of clean house, I can't sing on key EVER, I love the scriptures but sometimes feel like I don't know as much as others, I forget to send THANK YOU cards, I hate cooking and cleaning the kitchen, I love to do laundry, I wish my hair would blonde back up a little, I hate being dirty, but I love the peacefulness of camping, I know that I should exercise more, I am an amateur photographer, I make my bed everyday, I love a good road trip, I can spend hours in museums, I hate snakes, I love Florida State Football, and I BELIEVE IN CHRIST.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who were members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even though my parents were members and I was expected to live their values in their home, I developed my own testimony and it contintues to grow. I remember being very excited to get baptized when I was eight years old. I could understand even at a young age that I was agreeing to kept the commandments and that in return my sins would be forgiven. Shortly, after I was baptized I gained a strong testimony of Heavenly Father's Plan for each of us. I know we lived before this earthly life and we will live after our earthly life. I know this because I can feel the Spirit testify to me that it is indeed true. Knowing for sure that Heavenly Father's has a Plan, allows me to see all other doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and has a place. I believe that Family comes First is a universal value. Our church believes that Families Can Be Forever. I believe that the family is sacred and when we work together to be a Forever Family we can have a peace and happiness that is indescribable. Our Church has many many programs and doctrines that are focused on the strengthening the individual and the Family. I feel the Holy Spirit in the Temple of the Lord like no where else. There is indeed a sense of peace in the temple and a removal of the worldly stresses, and also a confirmation by the Holy Spirit that Families are Forever and that Heavenly Father's Plan is for us to return to live with him in Heaven as Families. I was born to Mormon parents. But, I have chosen this faith. My Choice. My Faith.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of my everyday life. I love it. I need it. Our faith is part of our everyday family life. Personal Prayers. Family Prayer. Personal Scripture Study. Family Scripture Study. Family Activities. Gospel Teaching. Gospel Discussions. I have worked with the babies, children, teenagers and women in church and have loved almost every minute of it. Currently, I am working with the women's service organization called Relief Society in our ward/congregation. I have had so many opportunities to serve our family, friends, community and beyond through my involvement with my local congregation.
