Hi I'm Tanna.

I am a teacher, wife and mother to four great kids! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my amazing husband and four of the best kids this side of the Mississippi! Whether we're boating, skiing, playing sports, or at home making volcanoes explode, we enjoy spending time with each other. While attending college, I struggled with which career path I should choose. I knew I would become a teacher when I received a special blessing and I was guided by the Spirit in this direction. I believe in the power of the Priesthood and in the wisdom Heavenly Father has given me through blessings. Growing up, I was a little bit shy. I did, however, choose to become a teacher, and I love it! I am currently teaching my own children and serving in my ward Primary. Many of the skills I learned professionally have been an asset to me personally, especially with four kids! Turns out, Heavenly Father knew the best path for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ. I am learning to follow Him each and every day. I am not perfect. The Church of Jesus Christ is about forgiveness, and striving to do better. We can receive forgiveness for our wrong doings when we ask Him in our prayers. Through Christ's Atonement, each time we make a mistake, we can learn from it and move forward. When I attend my church meetings, I don't see perfect people, I see ordinary people doing extraordinary things. Many of them serve others around them; they are great friends, caring neighbors, scout leaders, and teachers (along with their full-time jobs and families). Many of them devote hours upon hours to serving and building-up others. That is the life Christ led. Often times when I am reflecting, the scripture "...wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them" comes to mind. There are so many good people in the world and I am striving to be one of them. In loving unconditionally, and serving each other, we will continue to know Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by committing to do the right things, (even when they are not convenient), because I know they will make me happy. In Primary, we learn about our Heavenly Father's plan for us. This is such a blessing to me and helps me keep grounded as to what is really important in my life. Some of the things we learn about are: prayer, the Word of Wisdom, baptism, and the love that Heavenly Father has for each of us. We also read scripture stories and sing songs about our loving Savior. Once a year, we put on a musical program, where the children get to bear their testimonies through music. We often have visitors who come on this ONE Sunday a year, so they can feel the sweet spirit that our Primary children bring to this meeting.
