Hi I'm Kent

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the married father of 3 wonderful children. My career is in that of insurance and investments. I love basketball, camping, elk calling and cooking good food on my smoker.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because I prayed and received an answer to my prayer. The answer was simple yet powerful; God lives and he is a loving Father and I am his child, Jesus is the Christ, the Savior of the world, Joseph Smith was called of God as a prophet in our times and the Bible and the Book of Mormon are words of God that testify of Christ as our Savior and Redeemer. My experience although unique to me is not unique. I know that anyone who prayers with a sincere heart and real intent can and will receive an answer for themselves. These answers will help one know the reason they are placed on this earth, where they came from and where they are going when this earth life is over. I am grateful to My Father in Heaven for showing me the way.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve in the church as teacher. I instruct the Elders. Its a wonderful calling that allows me to study up on topics and then share them with my brothers at church. I try and live each day as Christ would have me live.

What is the First Vision?

At a young age, Joseph Smith was confused by the number of religions in the area he lived in. He felt that there should be one church; essentially the church of God or of Christ. After an intense study of the Bible he took to a grove of trees nearby his home. There he knelt down alone to pray; he had a marvelous experience in which a light from above fell upon him and around him. Inside of the light Joseph saw two persons "whose brightness and glory" were beyond his ability to describe; one of them spake to him and said, "Joseph, this is My Beloved Son. Hear Him." Josepth Smith, like Moses and other Biblical prophets was given the amazing expericne of seeing God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. This experience we know as the First Vision.
