Hi I'm Ruth

I am LDS. Happily married to a member.

About Me

I met my husband thru football which we both love. I gave him the Book of Mormon the day we met. A few weeks later he joined the Church. I have been wheelchair bound since 95 and so cant get out in the cold or rainy months but I really love it here in Lancashire. A few years ago I learnt cardmaking and bless the ward with the things I make. It is really good to be able to help others.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply, I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. To me it makes sense that God the Father and Jesus Christ are two exalted beings with one purpose (to bring us Home). And the Holy Ghost is a personage of Spirit who dwells within each of us. I know Joseph Smith was called of God to be a prophet. He was the one who asked God which Church is true as they all teach so many different things. God knew that Joseph would do what the Lord asked Him. I was going through a few trials when one day I was reading the Bible as well as attending a few different Churches when I decided to ask God where is the truth. A few weeks later a freind came to work with me and she introduced me to the missionaries. It seemed strange at first but six weeks later I was baptised. Another good thing about the Church is baptism by immersion just as Christ was. God has performed many miracles in my life and I have done many things I never thought I would in the last 34 years but the longer I am a member I feel the least I know for the gospel is a continual learning process. And the best thing about that is that I can learn at my own pace (which compared to my beanie snail is very slow!).

How I live my faith

First of all I need to say that I have been wheelchair bound since 95 so I dont get out much in the winter as it is always wet here and very very cold but the Lord has helped me to find many good ways to live His gospel. Sundays will find me either listening to the conference and/or doing the lessons, visiting teaching and preparing Family Home Evening. Also making cards when I am able. Monday to Friday as soon as I am able I get to work on my calling as an Indexer for Family Search. My husband helps me with that. I take a break for dinner and then do some cardmaking. I really wanted to do something to help the ward (as I really love it here) so I asked the Lord and I felt inspired to do cardmaking. Not long after I was assigned to make cards for the women of the ward. I have now been told I can do that permanently.
