Hi I'm Jed

I'm a cowboy, a veterinarian, a husband, a father and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family where faith was taught. I had spiritual inclinations as a boy, but turned away from God for a time. In the back of my mind I knew I wanted to have the Holy Spirits influence back in my life. When I went off to college I began to repent and change. The Savior blessed me with forgiveness and I got back to where I could feel like my prayers were getting through the ceiling again. I have continued on that path. I was blessed to meet a wonderful young woman who eventually became my wife and best friend. We've been married nearly 30 years now. I served a mission for the Lord. I had a successful carreer as a rodeo cowboy, graduated from veterinary school and my sweetheart and I have 4 great children. Even though we taught the gospel to our children from the time they were young some of them have turned away from God as I once did. We feel hopeful and confident that they will all fully embrace the gospel in their lives someday. That is our greatest hope and the object of our faith and prayers. I love to fly fish and ski with my family when I'm not working. We also own and ride horses.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Lord has revealed to me that the Church is true. It contains the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love to serve the Lord and my fellow man. The reasons I love and revere the Church are too numerous to mention. There is no part of my life that it does not affect profoundly. It's the foundation for everything that I do.

How I live my faith

Everyone in the Church has a job. I have had many and will have many more. It really doesn't matter what position we serve in. The callings come from God through revelation to His chosen leaders. I do my very best to follow the leaders of the Church. It's wonderful to help others. We are often the means by which God answers the prayers of others. It's humbling and a great responsibility to be involved in the Lords work.

What is being a Mormon like?

Jed
It's the best thing ever. The fulness of the gospel found in the Church contains answers to life's questions and guidance in all I do. There isn't a part of my day it doesn't effect. There's nothing magic here either. I have the same kind of struggles, challenges and trials that other people have. The gospel provides ways and means to deal successfully with the ups and downs that will and do come along. It's the foundation of your house, your anchor in the storm, the inner strength that see's you through everything. To use an equine analogy, it's the one perfect horse you own in your life that will never get sick and never grow old. My faith and belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ is what I measure everything in life against. Nothing will ever beat it. You can hang your hat on it and take it to the bank! Show more Show less
