Hi I'm Kay

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am one of seven children born to amazing parents. They were examples of goodness and kindness, and taught us by example as well as precept. I now have five kids of my own and as I parent, I often reflect on the great example I had in a mom and dad. Motherhood is the best job in the world! To me, there is no greater joy. In addition to spending time with my family, I enjoy reading, music, researching, learning new things, and being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up with a solid foundation of good values and principles in an active LDS home, I had to find my own testimony. I have come to truly know and feel my Savior's love (mostly through tremendous trials) as I have sought help from on high through prayer, service, devotion and keeping His commandments. The true and living gospel of Jesus Christ helps me see all things with a broader, more eternal perspective. I love the simple gospel truths that bring meaning to this earthly life. We are here to learn and grow and prepare to return to a loving Heavenly Father. This knowledge brings me great peace. Membership in the church is a wonderful blessing in my life.

How I live my faith

I strive to make choices that are right and good. I try to live in a way that will bring honor to my Savior and His church. My favorite place to serve in the church is in the children's organization (ages 3 to 11). What a special spirit children have! One day a group of these children were trying to guess one of my talents (there aren't very many). After a couple of guesses from some boys wondering if I was talented at soccer or basketball, one girl's arm shot into the air. Excitedly waving her hand she said, "Oh, oh, I know, I know! Your talent is teaching children about Jesus Christ!" That little girl did not know me very well, so that response said more about her than it did about me. But what she said had a huge impact on me. It caused me to think, wow, wouldn't that be an awesome talent to have!
