Hi I'm Kirk

I grew up in good old Utah, now i live in Arizona, I enjoy sports and outdoor activities and i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm someone who likes to do it all. I really enjoy sports, especial soccer...even though i'm not the best at it. One of my favorite past times is camping with my dad and my 5 older brothers. Getting away from the world and sleeping under the stars has always helped me clear my thoughts and look at the big picture in life. I have 4 awesome sisters as well, they have taught me some many important things in my life that will bless me down the road. I have aways been a nerd at heart, my father taught all of us kids how to play chess when we were younger. He said "the more you practice, the quicker you will be able to beat your older brothers". I practiced almost every day from that time forth until i had beaten all my brothers at least once. That taught me a valuable lesson, if i put my mind to it, i can accomplish anything. My mother is the sweetest little lady you will ever meet, she may be only 5'2 but in my eyes she is a giant. I was in a serious motorcycle accident just over a year ago, a car ran a red light as i was making a left hand turn. after the car hit me i was laying on the ground and even thought i was 22 at the time i wanted my mom there beside me holding my hand. I was rushed to the hospital in the ambulance, my right leg was mangled form getting hit by the car. When she arrived to the hospital with tears in her eyes she rushed to my bedside to make sure i was ok. I have fully recovered and i now have a new appreciation for my life and my loving family.

Why I am a Mormon

The greatest blessing in my life along with my loving family is being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was raised a Mormon in Helper, Utah. As kids my parents took us to church every sunday and we were taught the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a child i usually did what my parents asked of me. In my teen years i never really became to rebellious against the church but i was having a hard time dealing with peer pressure at school. I figured the Mormon Church was true because thats what my parents always told me. I knew they wouldn't lie to me because of how much they loved me. I just didn't understand why other kids would do things my parents taught me was wrong. Then out of no where we up and moved to Arizona, i was furious, baseball season was starting and school had just started back up. I had no say in the move, and i wasn't to happy about it. I remember going to school and no knowing anyone. After about a month i realized i was 1 of 5 Mormons at my school, unlike Utah where most of the kids were Mormon. I was really struggling and hanging out with the wrong crowd at school. I decided one night to ask Heavenly Father through prayer to help me make better choices. As timed passed i became friends with those other members of the church. They helped me avoid bad crowds, stay out of trouble and get back into on track. Those friends don't know this, but I know they were the answer to my prayer. Choosing the right friends has a huge influence on our lives. I know God will answers our prayers because we are all his children and he loves us beyond comprehension. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true Church here on the earth today, and that Thomas S Monson is the living Prophet and he speaks for God today. I know the Book of Mormon is true and has brought me closer to God as i have studied and pondered its teachings. I love the Gospel and my Savior with all my heart.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for the church in Madrid, Spain for two years. The two most rewarding years of my life so far. I help teach a class to single young men ages 18-30 on Sundays. We play softball every tuesday night which i look forward to every week. A few other members and myself have organized a little soccer club Wednesday nights after we get out of a Book of Mormon institute class. We play indoor soccer using tables as our goals. This type of activity allows people who are not members of our church to come out and play some soccer and get to know some members of the Church. Family is the center piece of the Mormon Church. Through living the gospel principles i have learned to love my family even more... even though none of us are perfect the gospel allows me to always look for the good in people. I try to read my Scriptures on a daily basis, i find when i do read them in the morning i always have a better day. If i forget to read them i seam to get frustrated easier and get down on myself. One of my favorite thing to do is show service to those around me, Christ was the best example of service and i'm striving to be more like him.
