Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 14 years old and I'm in the 8th grade. One of my favorite things to do is to play music. I play a keyboard in a rock band, a bassoon in my school band, and the saxaphone in jazz band. At home I like to play my guitar and keyboard. I also like writing songs on computer programs like Logic and Garage band. My favorite bands are The Beatles, Coldplay and Pearl Jam. I want to learn how to play every instrument. When I'm not playing music, I watch episodes of The Office or play with my dogs. I have a dachshund and a lab mix and they are the funnest things in my house. I like that they are always happy to see me, even if I only left the house for a minute.

Why I am a Mormon

I like that I am growing up in a family that is mormon. Being in this church helps me to have higher standards and helps me have higher expectations of myself. In school I encourage others to choose the right. That means that I try to tell my classmates to stop cussing or saying inappropriate things. I think that if I wasn't in this church, I wouldn't even notice that what they do is wrong. I will walk out of a movie if it makes me uncomfortable because of bad language. I like reading the bible and especially the Book of Mormon. I like the stories in all of the books. I know that they are words from God. I know that God loves me and will always love me even if I make a mistake. I know that no matter how far I fall down satan's path, I can repent and return back to God's path. I also know that my family loves me and that I am a child of God. I love being a mormon!

How I live my faith

I am a teacher in my church. This doesn't actually mean that I teach other people. It really is just a title that's assigned to kids my age. As a teacher I have a lot of jobs. One is to help kids who are younger than me. Another is to help with the sacrament. Just last week I got to speak in church in front of the whole congregation on the topic of baptism. It was kind of scary, but I'm glad I did it. I like going to church every Sunday, because I like learning about Jesus Christ and hearing other stories from the bible. The lessons in my Sunday school classes are really good. They help me to be able to choose the right. On Wednesday nights, we meet at my church building for Scouts and Mutual. Mutual is a combined activity with boys and girls my age. On these nights we play games like kickball and softball.
