Hi I'm Josh

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a student. I'm an employee. I'm a sports enthusiast. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six children and we moved around a lot with my Dad's work. My joy in life is my family. I have a beautiful wife and two amazing sons. I have a Bachelor's degree in Communications with a Minor in Spanish from Indiana University Purdue University - Fort Wayne (IPFW), and am pursuing a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision. I love to watch and play sports as well as the occasional video game or movie.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were baptized members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints over 40 years ago and I therefore have grown up a member of the church. I continue a member in adulthood because one night on my knees at the age of 19, I prayed to know if the church is true and got a feeling of reassurance that I cannot deny. I know this is Christ's church and that He continues to lead and direct the church through a living prophet today. I have come to realize that the happiest moments in my life have come as I keep the commandments and live Christ's teachings. Those teachings found in the Holy Bible and Book of Mormon are meant as a guide for us to be happier and if we follow those teachings we can have eternal joy beyond mortal comprehension. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints helps me to know and understand God's plan. I am so appreciative for the blessing it is to undestand who I am, where I came from, and my potential. We are all children of God and he as a father wants what is best for us and teaches us how we can have all that He has, which is more than I can imagine.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being better than I was yesterday. I am not perfect, my wife will joke that I'm far from it, but I try. I do not swear, I do not drink, I do not smoke, and yes it's true I do not even drink coffee. I have made those choices and do not compromise the standards I have been taught to live. I also try to serve others as Christ served people. I currently serve in the church as a member of our ward's Elder's Quorum Presidency. I'm sure that means nothing to most, but that means I help the adult men usually between ages 18 - 45 (give or take). I sometimes teach in our Sunday lessons, I occasionally go on visits to make sure all is well in the home and provide a spiritual message, and serve however I may.
