Hi I'm Amy

I love good books, Cub Scouts, and being a mother of four boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a fantastic little community in Utah and now I live in the Phoenix Metro area. I am a wife to an amazing husband. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing but am no longer working in that field because I have chosen to be a stay-at-home mom to four awesome boys. I like early mornings, gardening (the harvest, not so much the work before that), live theater, and trying new recipes. I am a voracious reader of many genres and am currently trying to finish reading the Holy Bible, King James version, cover-to-cover before the end of the year. But my hobbies usually take back seat to the schedule of feeding, cleaning up after, teaching piano lessons to, chauffeuring, and loving my four busy boys. I have a great life!

Why I am a Mormon

As a daughter, a wife, and a mother, I love being a woman in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and has a purpose for my life. The Mormon Church holds the answers to so many of my questions and concerns about my family and living in the world as it is today. With so many lifestyle choices and worldly influences, it can be a scary time for families. I know through the teachings of the Church I can be a better mother, neighbor, sister, and friend. As I teach my family and help them live the gospel of Jesus Christ I know they can be valiant in standing up to the moral challenges that face them. As I try to live and serve as my Savior lived and served, my rough edges are being smoothed and I can better understand His love for each individual.

How I live my faith

I smile when I think that 95% of my service in the Church has been involved with the Cub Scouts, in one way or another. I adore the Cub Scouting program! After serving in the Scouts for over 12 years, and being a mother of four boys, I can see what an inspired program it is and how it builds boys into great men. And it's so much fun, too! I love the emphasis on physical activity, citizenship, learning new skills, and Faith in God. I currently serve in my Scouting District as a Unit Commissioner over eight Cub Scout Packs.
