Hi I'm Brooke

I'm a mom to 3 kids. One who has Down syndrome. I'm a lover of photography and pretty much all desserts. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Three children call me mother. Two boys and one girl. I have a nursing degree, and I loved working in the nursing field. After our first child was born I chose to focus on being a mother. Now I stay home full time, while my husband continues his training to become a rehab medicine physician. (Only 3 more years of residency to go! :) Being a mom is certainly hard work, but I am grateful to have such an influence in the lives of my children. Being a mother brings me so much happiness. In addition to being a mom, I have several hobbies I enjoy. I love singing, playing the piano, and various crafts. I enjoy photography, and Instagram, and we have a family blog I post to regularly. I also like to coupon and think of new ways to save our family money. Saving money is like a game to me, and I love it! Ha.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. But I remain a member because I have gained my own testimony of the Church's truthfulness. I know for my self that Jesus Christ lives and that He knows me individually and loves me. I know there is a Father in Heaven who is aware of us and our individual situations as well. Throughout my life I have had many experiences where I felt the love of my Father in Heaven and have known He wants me to be happy. Following the commandments and living the gospel is what brings this happiness into my life. Although my life has not been without trials, I am happy because I know there is a purpose to my life.

How I live my faith

Currently I participate in my church by playing the piano for the children ages 4-11. Each week another woman plans games to help teach the songs. The children are so sweet and say the most entertaining things. I love watching them pick up on the words to the songs (which all teach gospel messages.) I can see their little testimonies growing as they memorize the words to the songs we learn. I love being apart of the calming and soothing influence that music creates.
