Hi I'm Linda Louise Washburn

I'm a Mormon and I have a daycare

About Me

I am a wife, a mom and a grandma. Those are my favorite jobs! I love to travel and would do alot more of it if I had the time and the money. I don't understand football but I am an enthusiastic Colts fan thanks to my daughter and son-in-law. After working at at a bank for 10 years I decided I needed to be home with my kids so I started an in home daycare. It was a perfect fit for me and I have been doing that for 34 years. We lost our son in 2005. He had been fighting a mental illness for several years. I miss him everyday. I am so glad I will be able to see him again! My goal now is to keep in good enough shape to keep up with my 4 year old grandson.

Why I am a Mormon

I had not really known a Mormon until I met my husband (at least I didn't think I did). Even though he was not active in the church I wanted to know what he believed so I allowed the missionaries to come and teach me about the church. This continued for 13 years. I really knew what they were telling me was true but I just was having trouble making the commitment to join the church. I knew if I joined that my life style was going to change and I wanted to make sure I was really ready. My husband and I had been attending church on a regular basis and I had already given up the things that I needed to change so when my youngest daughter decided to be baptized I was baptized the same night. I have never regretted that decision. My life has had plenty of heartaches and many struggles and I don't know what I would have done without the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I am now Cubmaster in our Ward and am learning as I go. I worked many years with the youth and I loved that. I also try to do service for our community whenever possible. I hope when people think of me they will remember me as a nice person that they enjoyed being with.

Can you tell me about Mormon customs: how you dress for church, what holidays you celebrate, etc.?

Linda Louise Washburn
I had always worn a dress to church so that wasn't any differant for me. We wear our Sunday best, modest dresses and skirts for the women and men usually wear ties. Some wear suits or sport coats and the kids wear their nice, clean clothes. We celebrate Christmas and Easter as well as the national and regional holidays in the countries where we live. We aso celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, etc. Show more Show less
