Hi I'm Jeannie

I grew up in Chicago. I am married with six children, and I love people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have always loved to sew my own clothes. I went to design school and fell in love with children's clothing as well. As a mom of 6 children, I realized that I didn't have time to sew all their clothes! Instead I have spent time making memories with them. Its noisy, messy, chaotic, and wonderful to be a wife and mother.

Why I am a Mormon

After college, my brother and I shared an apartment together for awhile to save on expenses. He dated a girl who had recently joined the Mormon faith. He came home one day and said he thought there was something to her religion, and we should listen. So we invited 2 Mormon missionaries into our little apartment. The very first visit they began to teach us about families lasting more than just for this life. I really wanted that, as my dad had passed away when I was young, and I missed him. They came back several times, and I noticed that I had this warm, comforting feeling inside whenever they taught us. That was over 30 years ago, and I have never lost that feeling. I am so happy being close to my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. Through this church I have found the way that will ensure that our family will last forever.

How I live my faith

Recently, I have been asked to lead the young women in our ward ages 12-18. I love being with them, teaching them and learning from them. I think the thing that sticks out in my mind the most is that this program for our youth is designed to really watch over them. Heavenly Father is so mindful of each of them. He cares about the individual, and it is apparent in this organization , as well as in each of the organizations of the church.
