Hi I'm Emily

I'm a stay-at-home mother of 3 boys. I love to read, listen to music, play the piano, and travel to new places. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second oldest of eight siblings. I was born in California, but lived most of my life in Utah. Then moved to Arizona with my family about 6 years ago, and absolutely love it here! I received my Associates Degree in Early childhood Education, but then ended my schooling to raise my family. I have been married to the love of my life for over 10 years and we currently have 3 little boys. I love being a stay-at-home mother to my children! Nothing makes me happier than to be with my family! I also run a daycare from home and love being able to help others take care of their children while they are at work. In my free time (whatever I can get being a mother of 3 busy boys!) I love to read, listen to music, and play the piano. I also love to travel with my family whenever we get the chance - I love to see new places and learn about other cultures. Someday I hope to be able to see/travel all over the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents are members, my grandparents are members....it has always been a part of my life. I was baptized a member when I was 8 years old. I have always known what the gospel teaches is true, I had been taught it's teachings my entire life, but I still had to find out for myself and not just trust in my parents beliefs. And when I read the entire Book of Mormon myself and prayed to know if it was true - I got the answer I had been hoping for...yes it is! I have felt the spirit so strong so many times in my life that there is no way that I can deny what I have felt and what I know to be true. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that knows each of us - he would never send us through this life alone! That is why we have prophets, church leaders, and families to help guide us along our way. I know and am so thankful that we have living prophets today that can help us to understand the things we need to be doing to live with our Father in Heaven again someday. I have a testimony of temple work. I am blessed to be married to my best friend and that we were able to be married in the temple so that we can be a family forever with our children! I believe in and am grateful for the atonement of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and that because of his sacrifice and love that I can be forgiven when I make a mistake. We all make mistakes. It's a part of life and being human. I have felt my Savior's love so many times in my life. It is part of what keeps me going every day. I am so truly grateful to have the gospel in my life - I am so thankful to be a member of His church. I'm so grateful to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try and live my faith every day. Is it always easy? No. But I do it because I believe it with my whole heart. One way that I live my faith is through teaching my children. We are always trying to teach our children the teachings of the gospel and the stories in the scriptures, as well as teach them the things we feel they need to learn to grow up to be good people. Another way I live my faith is through service in my church. I have had many callings in my ward. One of my favorites has always been to play the piano for the choir. I love music so much and I always seem to feel the spirit so strongly through music. Another calling that I have loved is working with the youth in our church. I love to be able to teach them lessons on Sundays, as well as do activities with them during the week to help them learn and grow in many different aspects of their lives. It's amazing to me not only how much I can teach them, but also how much I learn from these youth every day! They fill my heart with love and that is something that helps me to keep going and working on things in my life to better myself as well. Other ways I live my faith are simply by keeping the commandments. God has promised that if we keep the commandments we will be blessed. I know this to be true - I've seen it in my life and others lives! It is also a way to stay happy. Living the gospel and keeping it's standards makes me happy. That to me is always a good reason to keep living it! Another aspect I love about the church is how everyone is always serving each other. Everyone genuinely cares about and tries to help each other. Service makes me happy and I know it can bless the lives of the ones that I am serving. Christ was the ultimate example of selflessness and service. He is the perfect example of a Mormon - as he should be since this is his church. I try and live my life everyday striving to become more like him and make him proud to have me as a member of his church.
