Hi I'm Melissa

I grew up in Arizona and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I work full time, but am planning on going back to school in order to start a new career as a pharmacy tech. I am an active reader, and love watching movies and listening to all different kinds of music. I am also an avid traveller. I love visiting new places, trying new things, learning about different cultures and I especially love visiting the different LDS Temples.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was baptized by my friend Jeremy over four years ago, what a wonderful day it was! I had been around the church since I was 17, and even went to many church events with my friend and her family. It’s a running joke in her family that I’ve always had “One toe in the water.” One day, as I was talking to my friend Naomie and her brother Jeremy, I was asked the question as to why I wasn’t a member. I had basically been living the principles of the gospel for years, but never made the commitment to join. Well after many days of prayer, I told Jeremy that I was ready to hear the discussions from the missionaries. Jeremy instantly started making arrangements and Naomie offered to even go with me to the discussions. After many weeks, I had my first meeting with the sister missionaries. From the first meeting I knew that what I was doing was right. Two weeks later I was baptized and what a day it was. It was not without some hiccups though, like the day before my baptism when I recieved a phone call that an elder had left the baptismal font running and overflowed the building I was to have my baptism at. That was interesting, but is a fun story to share and I have to laugh at it. Truly, I belive that today's test is tomorrow's testimony. God will always be with you, even at your lowest points. I know that His church is restored on the earth today. I have a testimony of the scriptures and how they can help you with the questions you may have. I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

Being the only member of the church in my family has been quite an adjustment, but I am proud to be an example to my family. I've held two callings since becoming a member, I was called to serve the sisters in my singles ward which was a very rewarding experience. When I went to my family ward I was given the incredible opportunity to serve in Sunday school and teach the 6 and 7 year olds.
