Hi I'm Becca

I have 6 children, I love science fiction, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a stay at home mom. My family members are my best friends. I like helping out in my chidren's schools, and I love baking. My family really likes to laugh, and we often quote phrases from our favorite movies during meal-times that the others have to guess which movie it is from. I am 40 years old, and I just started taking piano lessons! My family loves to go camping, play games, and watch movies together. One of my favorite things is going walking in the mornings with a friend. The exercise is almost an after-thought, as I look at it as my time to talk for a whole hour (guilt-free) with another woman. I love nature, and feel close to my Heavenly Father as I look at the wonder all around me in this beautiful world.

Why I am a Mormon

My membership in the true church of Jesus Christ is my most precious possession. Trying to live according to the Savior's teachings brings me the blessings of peace and joy in my everyday life. I know that Jesus Christ is the head of His church, and He had restored the fulness of His gospel to the earth, with prophets, apostles and the authority to act in His name (the Priesthood), just as He established it during His mortal ministry. I love Jesus Christ, because He first loved me. He loved me so much that He gave His life for me, so I could not only someday be resurrected and return to my Heavenly home and live with Him and my family for eternity, but also be forgiven in this life of my sins as I repent and seek to do what right. We are all children of God, and He knows each one of us. I want to help my fellow brothers and sisters find the peace and happiness that I enjoy through following Jesus Christ's example. I am so grateful I am able to share the teachings of Jesus Christ with my children so that they may walk through this life with an understanding of where they came from, why they are here, and how they can find happiness now and hope for eternal happiness in the next life. We each have a purpose, with God-given gifts that are to be used to bless others and serve the Lord. Our potential is great. The Savior is real, and He will guide us and answer our prayers as we not only believe in Him, but live according to our beliefs.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church as a co-leader over the 10 and 11 year-old girls. They come to my home twice a month develop new skills, learn more about how to follow Christ in their daily lives, and to have lots of wholesome fun and friendshipping. ThI am also a volunteer for a famiy services agency, which provides free counseling, service, and information to unwed mothers and their families. I am involved in PTO at my children's school, and try to find opportunitiies to share my values and beliefs that bring me so much peace and joy in my life.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who is our Heavenly Father. He is our eldest brother, and the only perfect person to walk on the earth. He came to the earth to fulfill His Father's commandment, and to be our Savior. Only a perfect person could atone, or pay the the price of, another's sins. He is the Redeemer of the world. Without Him, no one could live again in a perfect body united with their spirits, or be forgiven and washed clean and made worthy to re-enter the Father's presence to live again for all eternity. Jesus Christ is the light and life of the world. He is the way to salvation. There is no other way that man can be saved. He loves each one of us so much that He gave His life for all who would follow Him and do the works He did. Show more Show less
