Hi I'm Michael

I live in Colorado. I am a husband and father of four children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church; meaning I grew up in a different religion but at 24 yrs old, after meeting the missionaries, I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am the husband to a wonderful wife, who is my best friend and my eternal companion. We are the parents of four wonderful children. We live in Colorado and we love to mountain climb, ski, hike, flyfish and just be in the outdoors as much as we can together as a family. I am the COO of a company with over 850 great people and love working with our team. I have never had more clarity to the purpose of life, I have never been closer to God nor had a better relationship with Jesus Christ. I have never been happier in life and I know all this is because I am Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost, I am Mormon because I prayed about the truthfulness of the Church and through the Holy Spirit received an unquestionable answer that this is the restored Church of Jesus Christ. The principles of the Mormon Church provide a great foundation for my life. I believe our time on earth provides an opportunity for us to grow and prepare ourselves to return to the presence of God. I've found that when I understand God's plan and strive to follow our Savior, Jesus Christ, my life becomes more fulfilling and I become a better person, better husband and better father. I cannot imagine where my life would be if I wasn’t Mormon. My first 24 years of life were wonderful, but without direction or an understanding of life’s purpose. I am now 41 and my last 17 years have been the most fulfilling and meaningful. I love knowing I am married to my wife for time and all eternity. I would not want to be without her and knowing we are together eternally makes me want to be a better husband to her. I love raising our children with the clarity of the personal standards of our church. I love having the direction of the commandments of God and the blessings of the word of wisdom, which keeps our bodies clean and our minds clear. I am Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and it helps me grow closer to God. I am Mormon because I know I am a child of God and he loves me and he loves you.

How I live my faith

Our faith is centered on the life of Jesus Christ and knowledge that he is the Savior of the world. As such I try and live Christ-like attributes as best as possible. Although we cannot be perfect like Jesus was, I try to reflect my faith in my daily life with other people. Dealing with others honestly, being caring and thoughtful about those around me, and having a perspective that focuses on eternal things, not only the things of this world. I also believe the family is central to God's plan, so I try to focus on my role as a husband and father and increase my patience and love to my family. I dearly love my wife and try and put her first in everything I do in life. We both love our four children and although parenting can be tough, we love spending as much time as possible with our children enjoying simple family time. I work with the young men in our church, ages 16-18, and enjoy being able to influence their lives as they prepare for missions, college, getting married and all else life has in store for them. I try and live my faith so other’s will see the change that has been instilled in me since being baptized, which is not always easy, but I try to be a good example of our standards and the loving, kind and selfless life we should live. I try and live our faith so people know we believe in Jesus Christ.
