Hi I'm Judy!

I’m a retired Piano Teacher, and I’m a Mormon!

About Me

I have had enough birthdays that I am now a Senior Citizen and Retired. I was a Piano Teacher for 35 years; it was something I could do in my home and still take care of my family. I majored in Elementary Education at the university because I enjoy teaching young people. It is still very important to me to be a conscientious Homemaker, a caring Mother and Grandmother, and a Loving Wife to my wonderful husband of 47 years. We have six grown children who are all married and raising families of their own ~~ our 25 grandchildren. I enjoy playing the piano and organ and singing in choirs. I like sewing baby quilts and sleepers, making quillows; and I always have a sewing project to work on. I crochet hot pads and sew hanging kitchen towels and then give them away. My husband (who is also my best friend) and I enjoy doing many things together, like traveling, going to concerts and ball games, bike riding, camping, being home teaching companions, playing games, and just being at home together.

Why I am a Mormon

I know I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and He sent all of us to earth to test us to see that we would keep His commandments; so that, after this life, we can come back to heaven and live with Him and our Savior Jesus Christ. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God’s plan for us on earth. Through its teachings we can learn and live the principles of the gospel, so that we can return to our Heavenly Father and live with our families eternally. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer, and through His Atonement, we can be forgiven of our sins. Because of Christ’s resurrection, we will all be resurrected. I have a testimony that the gospel of Jesus Christ ~~The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ~~ is true. I am grateful to be a “Mormon.”

How I live my faith

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), and I have pioneer ancestors. Living the Gospel is my way of life. I spend much of my time doing things for others and being of service. The scriptures tell us we should “love our neighbors as ourselves” and “when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.” I believe this is true. My husband and I served an LDS mission to the Enugu Nigeria Mission in Africa, and we currently have leadership callings in our ward. I also do FamilySearch Indexing, both as an indexer and an arbitrator. I attend Church every Sunday, whether at home or on vacation, and I strive to keep God’s commandments and be honest every day of my life. I love having the Holy Ghost in my life to guide and direct me. I am happy, and life is great!
