Hi I'm Teresa
I am a mother, and happily married. I enjoy being with my family, reading, camping, baking, going on walks, and I'm a Mormon.
I am thankful to be a full-time mother. I am a mother of 6, from age 4 months to 13 years old. I love to read stories with my children, take them on walks, and to the park, and other fun outings. I love to support my children in their various activities. It is so fun to watch them learn and grow. I love to be with my family. My husband is in the military, so we have enjoyed many moving adventures together. I have really enjoyed meeting new people, and seeing new places. We also love outdoor adventures together such as camping, hiking and rafting. I also love to be with just my husband. It is so nice to hold hands and to talk without interruptions. I enjoy baking, especially bread and cookies and I really enjoy reading, when I can fit it in. One of my favorite activities is to interview relatives and to record stories from their lives. I love to listen and learn about my heritage.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in a wonderful Latter-day Saint home. My parents struggled to have children, they lost 3 little babies who came too early. It was really hard on them, yet we were taught by our parents that we could be with our brothers and sister again. We knew that if we lived the commandments we could be an eternal family. As we studied scriptures, attended church, and prayed together, I came to know, as my parents knew, that this gosepl of Jesus Christ was true. I knew as my parents knew that we could be with our brothers and sister again. My father passed away a few years ago. I really miss him, but I am so thankful for the hope the gospel of Jesus Christ brings. I am so thankful for good parents who taught me these truths. I know that because of our Savior, Jesus Christ I can be with my family even after this life.
How I live my faith
Living my faith is a part of my everyday life. I do my best to make time each day for personal scripture study and prayer. I strive with my husband to teach our children to pray and study the scriptures as well. Every morning and night we pray together, every evening we study the scriptures together. On Mondays we spend the evening together as a family enjoying each other and learning more of the gospel together. Every Sunday we attend church together. Besides studying the gospel I strive to live the gospel by offering service at church and to friends and neighbors. At church I have enjoyed many opportunities to help, especially with the children. I have taught many different age groups, from 18 months to 16 years old. I have also enjoyed helping with various service projects such as helping with yard work, collecting items for a women's shelter, putting together hygeine kits for hurricane victims, and watching the kids while my husband went on several occassions to help with the hurricane clean-up. I really enjoy taking meals to families who might be sick, or who are welcoming a new baby into their home. I also enjoy visiting with others and simply being a friend. I don't have a lot of spare time for socializing, but I try to encourage others with phone calls, notes, and e-mails. I strive each day to prioritize what is most important. What would the Lord have me do today? Sometimes it is simply to care for the needs of my family, other days it is to help a friend or neighbor.
