Hi I'm Monique

I grew up in Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a single mom of a handsome 6 year old boy, we enjoy family time reading, laughing, and just making each other feel special. Although I love having an attachment, I savor my individualism by being spontaneous as much as possible. Recently, we travelled out of state and visited an incredible theme park. My friends and I strapped ourselves, securely, in a roller coaster that pulled us against gravity up 300 ft., then, allowed gravity to pull us 300 ft., while roaring 90 mph through loops and drops. It was the most exhilerating moment!!! I love adventures!!! To answer your question: No, my 6 year old did not accompany us on this ride!!! Throughout my playfulness, I hold a degree in Accounting and plan to seize a non-profit position in the future. As an avid reader, my brain desires any books that holds meaning and leaves me wanting more. Growing up playing basketball, I'm drawn to athletics and find solace in strength and cardio exercises-- yoga keeps me balanced. Along with all of the above, by trade, I'm a make-up artist, whose creative eye, somehow, have crept into my son's way of life!!!

Why I am a Mormon

As a Christian, I see how blessed my household is because of knowing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what The Atonement means for all mankind. In the year of 2008, I found myself, often times, crying out to GOD to bring peace, happiness, and love into my life. I needed meaning!!! As a single mother, I needed a purpose--a positive outlook. Needless to say, I didn't realize at the time but Heavenly Father opened the door to allow missionaries to knock on my door. I testify that through investigating the church and lessons with the missionaries, I became rich. Rich in the sense of gaining knowledge of whom love(d) me unconditionally. Through Jesus Christ, I learned who GOD was, is, and forever will be--a GOD who will provide and send multiple of blessings to my household. Knowing this, makes me want to strengthen my testimony, by following the commandments, reading the scriptures, and aiming to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

For me, it is so much fun to be surrounded by people who love and care about you. It feels ideal to gravitate towards those who want to help and want to give others a hand up! Being surrounded by the youth in the church brightens my day with how hard they strive to live a righteous life. It's very comforting to be amongst people who face the same challenges I face who are my peers (women). To be able to give lessons/teach other women inspires me, teaches me to prepare more readily and to make sure no one falls asleep while I'm speaking!!! I love being available and working in and out of the church!!!
