Hi I'm Amy

I'm a stay at home mom of 3 young, energetic boys. I like to create a happy home for all and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 3 boys and I am married to the love of my life, Ryan. I am a native Texan and grew up near Houston. Since being married to Ryan for 6 years we have lived in Idaho, South Carolina, Puerto Rico, Missouri, and now Nebraska. I can't wait to see where life will continue to take us. I love being a stay at home mom even though the laundry and dishes may pile up more frequently than I would like...I try to create a happy home. I enjoy blogging (for family and friends who are not near), I enjoy reading, I enjoy cooking, but not the clean up. I love to watch my children learn and grow. I also love to spend time with my husband. We strive to have a happy life-no one's life is perfect, but I think I have it pretty close to perfect!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. I am very thankful that good values and standards were taught to me early in life. I remember a special experience when I was about 12 years old when I knew for myself that the church was true. I was able to go visit a sister who was living in New York at the time and we went to Palmyra and some other church sites where the prophet Joseph Smith grew up and discovered his testimony and the Lord's plan for him. We went to the Sacred Grove where Joseph Smith went to pray and ask Heavenly Father which church he should join. The Lord's answer was none of them and then revealed that Joseph Smith should be the one to restore the true gospel on the earth. At a young age of 12, I remember the peace and calm feeling I had walking through the tall, beautiful trees. The Spirit testified to me that the church was true and Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I never forgot that experience. I had my trials growing up and being one of the few members in my high school I had opportunities to stray away from the gospel. But I am so grateful I had that special experience to remember those feelings that I felt. I am also a Mormon because it brings so much joy to my life. We believe families are eternal and I am thankful for that knowledge when loved ones pass and I know I can be with them forever. I am grateful to know I will be able to be with my husband and children forever. I am a Mormon because of modern day prophets. I learn what I need to know for myself and what I need to teach my children for these times. I am a Mormon because of Relief Society-an organization for women 18 and older. I am taught wonderful things in those meetings and learn charity. I am a Mormon because I love to serve others. I am a Mormon because of the knowledge that I am a child of God. It gives me the knowledge that I have a greater purpose to life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith be teaching my children about stories from the scriptures. We have family home evening every Monday night where we sing songs, play games, give a spiritual mini lesson, and usually end with a treat. We look forward to that time together and focusing on our family. I live my faith by serving others. I love to help anyone in a time of need. Not only does it help them, but it helps me become more like my Savior and I just feel better in general. I visit 3 ladies once a month with a friend who are all members of the church. We share a spiritual message and catch up on their lives and make sure everything is going well for them.
