Hi I'm Dennis

I grew up in California. I'm a husband, father, grandfather and middle school principal. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be active and love the outdoors. I love fishing, especially fly fishing. I love to get up early in the morning to go for a 15-20 mile bike ride. I am especially fond of riding my Harley Davidson motorcycle every chance that I get. I have been married to my sweetheart for 37 years and I love to be with her and my five beautiful daughters and their families. I have been blessed with 5 wonderful sons-in law and 15 fabulous grandchildren. I have been in education for over 36 years. I have been a teacher, coach, athletic director, and am currently a middle school principal which I love. I love to come to work everyday because there is never a dull moment. I love good weather and warm temperatures because it means I can be outside doing the things that I most enjoy doing. Being with my family at anytime is the thing I love the most.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint all my life. For me, my love of the gospel defines what I do every day as a father, husband, grandfather, and educator. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the way of life for me. I try everyday to live in the way that my Heavenly Father would have me live. I have challenges and obstacles just like everyone else, but I have the assurance that my Heavenly Father knows me, loves me, is concerned about me as one of his children regardless of what I do. I want with all my heart to return to live with him again with my family and I know that will be a reality if I live my life according to the guidelines which he has set. I also know that if I do my very best, even though I will make may mistakes along the way, that through the sacrifice of his only begotten son, my elder brother, and my Master, Jesus Christ, I will gain all the blessings that are promised those who keep his commandments. I know that Joseph Smith saw what he said he saw in that Sacred Grove when he witnessed the appearance of God, the Father, and his Son, Jesus Christ and heard the voice of God declare that through Joseph the fulness of the Gospel would be restored to earth once again. That restoration is now a reality which today is a thriving, growing, ever expanding Kindom of God on earth called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day  Saints led by the Lord Jesus Christ himself and directed here on earth by a living prophet, who is Thomas S. Monson. To that I bear my solemn witness, in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I had the privilege of serving a two year mission for the church to Chile, SA. Upon returning from my mission, I had the privilege of teaching Spanish at the missionary training school located at Brigham Young University for four years while I was working on my teaching degree. I have been blessed to serve in the leadership for our local church on 4 different ocasions. I love to teacher the gospel and have been called to that position in the church many times teaching children, teenagers and adults in Sunday School. I am currently serving as a priesthood leader in my ward as well as being a home teacher to fulfill my priesthood responsibilities. By so doing, I have the opportunity to serve 3 families in my local church as a frequent visitor to know their needs and be ready to serve them whenever and wherever I can. I love to participate in community activities such as the local non-denominational Christmas choir each year. I am active in our local theater guild performing once a year in a variety of theatrical productions. I try must best to be an example of gospel principles in my life wherever I am and whatever I do.
