Hi I'm Don

I'm a husband, and father of a mixed family of 5 kids. I write technical articles for magazines, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to play computer games. I design electronic solutions for mobile power. Sometimes my wife and I take motorcycle trips across the country on our Goldwing. I travel for business a lot and have published articles in RV, yachting, commercial truck and other magazines for electrical management and usage. I DJ for the church youth dances and once in a while they'll convince me to show a little break dancing. I love to joke around, and had considered stand up comedy as a career.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ simply makes sense to me, logically. That's the easiest answer. However, I also know that the more I live the teachings of Jesus, the happier my family is, and the happier I become because of it. The Church offers much in the way of social interaction with a wide variety of personalities in my local community. I don't feel pressured to act a certain way, or feel the "right" emotion at the "right" time. I've been immensely helped in some of the more specific optional classes offered like budgeting, and marriage classes. I'm a Mormon because I'm simply a better, kinder, more chariatable, and spiritually fulfilled person, and those who associate with me are better than if I wasn't.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by parenting my kids with the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the center. We have a lot of fun and my kids share my sense of humor, unfortunately sometimes. I serve in the Bishopric as the Second Counselor, and as the Stake Music Specialist, which is just a fancy way of saying I choose and play music for the Stake youth dances. I try to choose music that has a positive message, with no vulgarity or innuendo, but are also fun to dance to. I try to set a good example to those around me at Church, but also at work. I don't use crude language, or participate in crude jokes at work, or anywhere. I uplift my wife's role as home-maker when out "with the guys". I try to help those who struggle with the afflictions I've overcome in my life with addictions, or compulsions that are so counter-productive to truly enjoying our lives, and having FUN!
