Hi I'm Randi

I was born in Virginia. I play college soccer. I love Civil War reenacting. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Virginia and can say I am a proud southerner :) I do love history and especially American history. My father is a colonial gunsmith so I have been around it all my life. I’m in college right now majoring in History and minoring in Literature while also playing on the women’s soccer team for that college. I am the youngest of three children; my sister being 10 years my senior and my brother being 8 years my senior. I have always been a member of the church though there have been plenty of others in my life that have fallen away or turned away from God. My father is an alcoholic and my mother continues to hold on to their marriage. This has always been a huge struggle in my life since I have always harbored some harsh feelings towards my father; luckily, over the years, I have been able to move on and with the help from my Heavenly Father, I have been able to forgive my father for the many things he has done.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because there is nothing else in this life that makes more sense to me or brings me more joy. With the inevitable events that life brings; the passing away of loved ones, falling in and out of friendships and relationships, financial problems, etc., nothing brings more comfort and assurance that there is always a divine purpose and there is always someone out there looking out for you. I know I have a loving Heavenly Father who is always there to assure me and protect me because I am His child. Though this doesn't mean that I won't have any sadness or tragedy come to me, it means that I won't have to go through it alone and that He will bless me if I have faith in Him. I also know that I will always have someone to go to who understands EXACTLY what I am going through; my savior and brother Jesus Christ. I know He suffered on the cross for me and took upon him not only my sins but also my sorrows and sadness so that (1) I can be forgiven and live with him again, and (2) so that he could honestly be able to say, "I know what you are going through and I know how to help you." How many people would go through every trial, tribulation, pain, suffering, and anguish this life has to offer just so that they would know how to comfort you when you were going through that hard time? Our savior did. That is why I am a Mormon, because I have never felt so loved anywhere else in my life. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I belong to a student ward which is a congregation made up of college students and singles ranging in ages of 18-30. Here I play the organ for Sacrament meeting and I also serve as a counselor in Relief Society (basically a leadership position in the woman organization). I go visiting teaching which is where me and another woman from my church go and visit ladies in our ward to check up on them and see how they are doing and if they need any assistance with anything. It is a great opportunity to serve others and get to know many wonderful, amazing people.
