Hi I'm Pam

I grew up in the Mid-West. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Wife, mom and grandma. I enjoy spending time with the grand kids, especially overnights. It allows me to spend some quality time with them, to get to know them better then if I just had them for a short visit. We love to read together and roast marshmallows in the backyard for S'mores! My husband has some health issues so we try to find things to do that we both like and can do together, the one that seems to work out for us is going to the movies, that is, if we can decide on one we both like :) In my spare time I really like to garden. I have a few raised beds and love to plant and see the results of my effort. There is nothing better than having a salad for lunch and knowing that everything in it came from the earth. It just tastes so much better than store bought. However, I will admit that gardening in the West is a challenge, but after awhile you get the hang of it. The best part is that we have 2 seasons for planting so we get to enjoy the fruits of our labor 2 times a year!

Why I am a Mormon

When I married my husband I knew that he was a Mormon. Coming from the Mid West I really didn't even know what a Mormon was! In getting to know him and his family I learned a bit about the Mormons. At the time of our marriage I had no desire to become a member of the church, we did attend some Sunday meetings but that is far as I wanted to go. About 7 months after we were married we discovered we were expecting our first child. We were living in a small apartment and decided it was time to find a home to rent. We moved into our new home and our landlords across the street just happened to be Mormon. This family was amazing. As we got to know them and their children better we grew to love them. The daughter became our babysitter for the child that would be born and the one to come later. I happened to be very crafty and my friend across the street invited me to teach a Craft Night Activity meeting. It wasn't as scarey as it sounds, I was to instruct about 15 ladies on how to make a cute wooden basket. I had a really great time, it was really fun to be around all these amazing and talented women. Shortly after this experience, I decided to take the missionary lessons and learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. While taking the lessons I prayed to Heavenly Father to help me know of the truthfulness of what these young men (missionaries) were teaching me. All through the lessons I just felt in my heart that what they were teaching me was true. I wanted to be a part of this wonderful church. I was Baptized, and a year later went to the temple to be sealed to my husband, daughter and the unborn son in my womb. What a wonderful experience, I now could be with my family forever. It doesn't get any better then that!

How I live my faith

Right now I have a calling that allows me to work with the women of the church. We have a team of ladies that plan meetings for the women that will help them develop skills that they can use at home, service ideas for the community and sometimes just fun crafts. I really enjoy spending time with these women, they are truly wonderful, caring and talented people.
