Hi I'm Brinley

I play the piano. I love fruit and smoothies. I am a missionary. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I love life. I love just about everything about it! I love the amazing people that surround me each day, I love the wonderful opportunities and experiences that occur daily, I love food, I love music, I love having fun, I love the beautiful world that God has given us, I love the gospel, and I love my Father in Heaven. I am a student in college and just finished up my sophomore year. Ever since first grade I have wanted to be a teacher just like my first grade teacher was. Because of that and my love for children, I haven chosen Early Childhood Education for my major. For the next 18 months though, I will be putting that childhood dream on hold while I begin my service as a full-time missionary in France.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it, I live it, I love it. I know and have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true and living church on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith was the man called of God to be the prophet that would restore the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth again. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the earth today. I know that there is a loving Heavenly Father who hears and answers prayers. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and that it is through him and only him that we can be saved. I know that God is in the details of my life. Not long ago I had an experience that witnessed to me that God knows me, that he loves me and that when we are obedient and align our life with his will, we are truly blessed. Giving up my wants and desires to follow him was a hard thing for me but now, looking back, I know without a doubt that it was for a very wise purpose and that God is indeed guiding my life. He sees the greater picture and if we will follow him, nothing can go wrong. Yes, there will be trials and hard times but it will not be more than we can bear. I know without a shadow of a doubt that it is truly “in His strength that I can do all things”.

How I live my faith

The way I live my faith is through the somewhat small and simple things that really make all the difference. Each morning I begin my day on my knees with a prayer to Heavenly Father and when I go to bed at night, I end my day with a prayer. I read from the Book of Mormon each day and truly find joy and peace as I read. Each time I read from its pages I learn something new. I love it! I repent each day of the mistakes and sins that I have made that day and ask for forgiveness. I stand for what I know to be true. I try and look for ways to serve others whether that be holding a door for someone, texting or calling a friend to see how they are doing, doing the dishes for my roommates or participating in service activities in my community. Although I am not anywhere near perfect, I try to do righteous things that the Savior would have me do each day. It is my way of life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
