Hi I'm Brent

I'm a husband ,a father and a grandpa . I love to laugh ,I'm a goofball and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Most people that know me will tell you I am a goofball ! I love to laugh and make people laugh.I am the proud Father of 3 beautiful daughters and 1 handsome son (who is serving a mission in Lima ,Peru). They get their good looks and brains from my beautiful wife of 27 years , and their wit and humor from me ! I have the cutest Grandaughter ever ! I am 51 years old and love physical fitness. I play mens slow-pitch softball , bicycle 15 miles , lift weights and do P90X ! I run my own heating -cooling business and work for our school corporation.I performed with a friend, for 25 years in a "Blues Brothers lip-sync act.I recently re-newed my passion for motorcycles (and treated a mid-life crisis according to my friends) by getting a "cruiser" motorcycle. My wife even enjoys going for rides.I joined the church 28 years ago because of the example of my lovely wife , whom I will be forever grateful to because of that.

Why I am a Mormon

I was around 22 years old , I felt my life was going no-where..fast. I had a few vices (smoking , bad language, drinking) and I felt a strong desire to change my life ! I gave up all those " bad habits" and also started running , eating health foods and such.Then...I met my wife..she had been raised in the church and and had an unwavering testimony of the gospel. We fell in love , but she was worried because she wanted a husband that could take her to be sealed for time and eternity in the Temple.I still felt there was one more thing in my life that was missing and she at the same time wanted to share the Gospel with me...but didn't want to "scare " me away !That "missing thing" WAS the Gospel. I was taught the Gospel by two great missionaries and received confirmation by the Holy Ghost of the truthfullnes of it. I was baptized , then a year later sealed to my wonderful wife in the Washington, D.C. temple.I know to this day that I have the joy in my life because of the Church and because of a girls faith and belief in her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and her desire to adhere to that faith and find a mate that would take her to the Lords Temple and follow those beliefs. What a blessed man I am !

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the Branch President . For those unfamiliar with the Church it's kind of like a "Pastor" in other churches...but I am not paid to serve (nor are any of the members who serve in the various callings). I don't "preach" a sermon every Sunday , instead , members of the Church are assigned to speak . I do have a responsibility to oversee all of the members needs in our branch , but there are heads of several organizations that see to the individuals such as the youth , missionaries , mens and womens organizations as well as nursery and younger children. I love helping people to become better people, however I can. Although I am not "perfect" I try to live the example of our Savior ..Jesus Christ ..and show love and care for my fellow men. I continually strive to become more like Him by attending church , studying the scriptures , working hard at my calling as Branch President, striving to be a good father and husband ,and sharing the blessing of the joy that the Gospel can bring to the lives of others.I especially love to talk about my son and his full-time mission he is serving in Lima , Peru ..... Just ask me !
