Hi I'm Sha Snyder

I grew up in Indiana. I am the mother of 6 sons, the grandmother of 15 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi, I'm Sha (pronounced Shay). I was born and raised in Indiana and I now again live in Indiana after living in Ohio, Nevada, Utah and California with my husband, who is now deceased, and my 4 children as they grew up. 13 years ago, we started doing foster care and adopted 2 of the children we cared for. These two little boys are now 13 and 12. I also have 15 grandchildren. I like to sew and quilt and enjoy staying on top of politics and world affairs.

Why I am a Mormon

I was not raised in the Mormon church, but my husband and I joined the church in Xenia Ohio in 1968 after the missionaries found us by going through our neighborhood and came to our door. At the time the missionaries gave us several pamplets to read about the beliefs of the church. One was the testimony of Joseph Smith, Jr. and of the First Vision when God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. At that time the Spirit testified to me that what Joseph Smith said was true. That was the "small mustard seed" that began to grow in me as a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We joined the church and have remained very active in the organization of the church and it's programs. It has been the most wonderful thing in my life and has helped me every day of my life.

How I live my faith

I try very hard to live my religion every day. I work in the Primary organization in our ward which teaches the children from 1 1/2 to 12 years old and enjoy seeing the faith children and our youth. I also am a Visiting teacher and enjoy visiting and getting to know the sisters I teach each month. As a family, we read the scriptures and pray to our Heavenly Father every day. We have Family Home Evening most every week. It's not always easy but I know these things bring the Spirit of Jesus Christ in our home. I try to treat others as the Savior would want me to.
