Hi I'm Lorraine

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, stepmother, and grandma. Volunteering in my community is my favorite pastime. I love to read, garden, cook, and eat!

Why I am a Mormon

Once the missionaries taught me, when I was a freshman in college, I couldn't deny the truth. The gospel has given me the greatest gift--a way of life that gives purpose, peace, joy, and belonging.

How I live my faith

My lifestyle centers around the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ. I live my faith by following the recommended practices we are taught, like having meaningful daily prayer, regular scripture study, worship, and family activities in my life. I love that our church involves all its members in making the church function, and I have learned to love each of my callings. I have always been involved in visiting other sisters each month, and have made wonderful friends this way. Right now I am lucky enough to help with the weekday activities of the 8-11 year old girls. We get to do things like learn songs to perform, small service projects, and skills that they will take to adulthood. It's fun to get to know the girls and inspiring to hear about the struggles, accomplishments, and triumphs in their young lives. In the things I do outside the church I get to live my faith as well. When I was working in a social service setting the compassionate caring I learned in our women's group carried over into the office. My volunteer work in a community garden and with people with HIV/AIDS help me practice my personal values, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.
