Hi I'm Susan

I love music and helping others, being with my husband and children and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife to a wonderful man who loves & inspires me. We have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. I work part time and love being able to help others. I love music and playing the piano. I am not a great pianist, but others listen - so that is ok with me. :) I love to read. I read what our children are reading and what others have suggested. I also look for good authors that have great stories. I love computers. Technology is such a blessing in so many things. I love working on family history. I have been a member all my life (a "lifer" as my husband says).

Why I am a Mormon

I gained my testimony of my faith when I was 17. My father became sick and passed away. It took a lot of prayer and reading, but I found out on my knees that God wants families to be together with Him for eternity. This life would not be easy, but thru faithfulness and diligence, it would be worth it. The Lord let me know there were still things I needed to do. I read from the scriptures often and felt a peace & understanding that I had never before had. I knew that God loved me & knew what I was going thru. He knew my pain. He helped me find peace in a painful circumstance. Throughout my life I have had 3 scriptures that touch me the most: 1Nephi 3:7, Matthew 5:14-16, Doctrine & Covenants 136:28-29. I know that God lives and that He loves each and everyone of us. I know that my life would not be the same if I did not have the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life to strengthen me and lift me up when I didn't think I could go another step. Heavenly Father has blessed my life in so many ways, each and every day I am grateful to Him for all He does for me. I know He hears and answers my prayers, even when they may not be answered the way I want, the Lord KNOWS what is best for me and my family. I know that Joseph Smith restored the full gospel of Jesus Christ to the Earth. I strive every day to do the best I can - even tho I am not perfect - Jesus Christ took it upon Himself through the Atonement to make sure that we can repent and gain eternal life with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I play the organ for our Sacrament meetings. I also work with the youth. I am a committee member for our Scout Troop as well as a 4-H committee member. I am a library board member. I am actively involved in choir and have sung songs with my sister and others at various churches in the community and all around. I love to visit with ladies in my ward that may not be able to get to church on Sundays. I am a mom that is actively involved with my kids' activities, whether it's cross country, track, scouts or church activities. I want to be the best example of our savior Jesus Christ.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Susan
One of the things that I have tried to do in my life is LIVE like Jesus did. He had no hate, no strife, no contention. Only love for all His fellowmen. Some days it is not easy. The advesary wants nothing more than to drag us down into endless pain and misery, but Jesus wants us to love one another, find compassion, be that friend... You can't just jump right in. If you don't believe or don't have a strong belief, try working on something small - Do you KNOW for YOURSELF He is there? Pray about it... not just once, it may take a few times and you need to mean it. You will get your answer, I promise you that. God has blessed us with knowledge of the truth if we just seek it out and try. He doesn't want to just hand us everything, we need to want it. To work towards it. One step at a time. That's how I do it. :) Show more Show less
