Hi I'm John

I live for my family and the skies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Romania and came to Australia as a baby. I grew up with a basic belief in Christ but never really pursued that belief until I was older. I am married to my sweet wife Ann and we have a young son, who is full of life. I work in admin and study throughout the week, but on the weekend I live the life for my future career - aviation. I take up skydivers at the moment in a small aircraft with my aim to eventually fly for the airlines. When I'm not flying, spending time with my family comes first and it really is a great feeling to have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been the best decision I have ever made in my life. Every good thing in my life has come as a result of that decision. I have come closer to my Saviour Jesus Christ and have come to a knowledge of who I really am in my Heavenly Father's eyes - a child of His. The knowledge I have, gives me the strength I need each day to be the husband, father and friend I strive to be. I know that God lives and that He is our Father in Heaven, I know that Jesus is the Saviour of the world because I have felt the comforting influence of the Holy Ghost bare witness to me that He is. As I have opened my heart and aligned my will to His, I have had peace that nothing else in the world can give. Every single person experiences pain and heart ache of some description, I still do, but this is where Jesus Christ can help. He is the perfect mender for He has experienced the pain's of all the world and knows us all as individuals. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and that it's translator the man named Joseph Smith was and is indeed a prophet of God. I came to this knowledge not by someone telling so, but by following the promise found in the scriptures - Ask and ye shall receive. I invite you to do the same, knowing that as you do with a sincere heat and with real intent you will find that truth and peace you are searching for.

How I live my faith

I try to emulate the Saviour by the way He served others. At the moment, I serve as an employment specialist. It involves helping people help themselves in becoming self reliant. I give guidance to people who are in need of employment - such as where to look for work, how to improve your current set of skills and where to learn new ones. I also serve as a home teacher. This involves visiting a number of families each month and sharing a message centred on Christ. It gives me the opportunity to see how they are going both physically and spiritually and allows me to give them help where needed. To me there are a few other things that I could say on how I live my faith, but I feel that service pretty much sums it all up. When I serve others, it makes me feel good for I know that I am playing a part in making someone else's life become better.
